Messiah's House Community Development Corporation (MHCDC) is a Louisiana-based non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families and transforming communities. Our mission is to address affordable housing needs, promote economic advancement, and expand educational opportunities for individuals and families in Louisiana and neighboring communities.
Through affordable housing initiatives, homeownership support, financial literacy programs, and workforce development, we equip individuals with the resources and skills they need to achieve long-term stability and economic independence. By fostering strategic partnerships and community engagement we are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering individuals to build a better future.

Meet the Founder
Wanda Jones Coston
Founder
Wanda Y. Jones Coston is the Founder of Messiah's House Community Development Corporation, dedicated to providing housing, education, and financial empowerment to low-income communities. A former Executive Director of Housing, she has led large-scale housing programs and received multiple awards for her contributions.
She also owns Fresh Start Transitional Housing, helping formerly incarcerated women rebuild their lives. As an educator, she teaches financial literacy and business development. Wanda founded the Blue Chics Foundation to support women and serves as the Founding Pastor of The Messiah's House Church. An accomplished author, entrepreneur, and recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, she continues to drive faith-based and economic empowerment initiatives. She is also completing her Doctorate in Theology this year.
Meet the Developer
Laqwanda Nettles — Junior Full Stack Developer
Laqwanda Nettles is a Junior Full Stack Developer and a recent graduate of CodeX Academy, bringing a unique background in culinary arts and caregiving to the world of technology. Passionate about creativity and problem-solving, she enjoys designing and building innovative digital experiences, including this nonprofit website.
Although new to the tech industry, she is eager to gain hands-on experience, expand her knowledge, and collaborate on impactful projects. With a strong commitment to learning and growth, she looks forward to connecting with others and making meaningful contributions in the field.
